Statement
John worked with junk - scraps of metal, plastic, etc that he impressed
into plaster and/or ceramic. This work is about rehabilitating detritis,
wanting to make something out of the most unpromising material.
John's other work involved photography and printmaking, the latter
with adapting photographs in Photoshop and underlaying with text.

Artistic Ambition
John's ambition was, in the short-term, to enable people to appreciate
the value of the discarded and ignored.
In the long-term, to link the discarded with a political sensibility;
a marrying of that with the poetic.
John sadly passed away recently. We would like to thank John for
his hard work and contribution to AVA.
